The History of Sendeng Pukulan

Sendeng Pukulan School Of Pencak Silat was officially established on 17 Febuary 1989. It was founded by a young man who was determined to establish his own pencak silat school. Thus, he met up with The Late Pak Hosni Ahmad, a well-known Guru (master) and a Pendekar (warrior).

After two years of going thru training with Pak Hosni, he was later certified to be a Guru of his own silat school. However, before it all began, he had been undergoing training with other gurus in Singapore which includes Pak Buang Bahar. In Singapore itself, he has learnt the art of pencak silat from 5 different guru in both physical and spiritual are of self defense.

'Sendeng' was originated from Makasar, Indonesia. This was confirmed by the Guru from Sendeng Jaya Putra, Pak Saini Rahman. It was said that he had learnt this form of Silat from his father. A missionary from Indonesia who is now residing in France, admitted that in Makasar, his father had taught Silat Sendeng in that province. He also added that they are still using the same traditional method of passing down the art of silat to their disciples.

'Pukulan' on the other hand, was originated from Bawean. Their art usually consists of fast and close contacts. Guru Jasni Salam has learnt this form of martial arts from The Late Pak Suni Rabi. From then on, having instilled in him two forms of arts, he names his silat school, Sendeng Pukulan, a combination of both forms of silat.

Only after its first year of establishment, Sendeng Pukulan has won the overall champion titile in the Inter Constituency Championships. Since then, with the spirit of being a champion, the fire in him grew to uphold a great name for his club in the later years. Hopefully with the blessings of The Late Gurus, his club would flourished with glory every now and then. AMIN.
